Training Curriculum
Basic Fundamentals:
12 sessions
Proper handling of the stick (olisi)
Target areas in numerical forms
Defensive and Offensive forms
Coordination of feet and body movement
Advance – Prepatory to WARRIOR:
12 sessions
Speed and Velocity of Strikes training
Tersia (3rd Strike) – intended for sparring exercises
Segunda (2nd Strike) – more forceful than Tersia, intended to deter any aggressive advances from a real attack
Primera (1st Strike) – Full contact strikes with the intention of destroying an attack from a real opponent.
Speed and Accuracy training with the use of targets
Instruction on the restricted and allowed striking areas in regards to sparring exercises
Defensive and Offensive hand coordination training
Disarming techniques
WARRIOR I – Introduction to Fight Training:
30 sessions
Pain resistance technique training
Simple defense with singular counter
Proper fighting distances between combatant
Proper body and step movements during combat manuevers
Simplified forms of counter disarming
WARRIOR II:
40 sessions
Series of counter-to-counter strikes with non-conformity to numerical systems
Series of counter-to-counter disarming in simplified forms
Introduction of defense with programmed non-numerical counter strikes incorporating 2 to 3 strikes per movement.
WARRIOR III:
50 sessions
Introduction to complex defensive forms
Multi-diversified form of strikes
Series of counters for every disarming format
Counter-to-counter exercise for every counter performed
WARRIOR IV:
60 sessions
Barehand techniques against opponent with stick and vice-versa
Introduction of Mixed Martial Arts in Eskrima
From stick to barehands incorporating other martial arts disciplines
Introduction of Locking and Releasing manuevers in Eskrima
WARRIOR V:
70 sessions
Combination of attacks using the tip and butt-end of the stick
Releasing close-locking and stick-locking combinations
Counters to close-locking format
Advanced combination of counters and counter strikes
WARRIOR VI – Introduction of Multi-varied Mixed Martial Arts Combinations:
80 sessions
Barehanded counter-assault forms
Combat-judo integration
“Bombing” – forms and counters
Slashing and thrust combinations with counter combinations
The rowing forms and techniques
Scratching techniques
WARRIOR VII:
80 sessions
Development of senses in combat
Equalizing different arts of combat
Mastering close-quarter combat
Dim-lighting and Dark-fighting manuevers
Mastery of deception in combat
